Spybot S&D:

Schedule a Update & Scan

 

 Spybot recommends you do a program update and scan. But if that sounds like hard work, Spybot enables you to schedule a update and scan. Keep watch to find out how to do this.
You should also Immunize once in a while, the video briefly touches on this but heres how:…
* Run spybot as administrator
* Select “Immunize”
* Wait for the scan to complete (the green bar to go all the way across)
* Then click “Immunize”

Password protect files and folders

Find out how much CPU you are using

 In this video you will find out how to find processes using CPU vire task manager! I am using windows 7 but the general principal will work with most windows OS’s!
Please be sure that if you do end any proccesses they are not vauble to the system or are needed, by looking them up or something

IP: Another way of launching Task Manager is by pressing CTRL, ALT, DEL and selecting “Start Task Manager”!

Create a power plan

 Sadly this only works with vista and windows 7, as part of microsofts urge to get everybody upgrading. By completing this tutorial it may save you that extra 1p on your electricity bill or save you heartache on a road trip!

After completing the instructions you should apply the plan by right clicking on the battery icon in the system tray and selecting the one with your name!

 Works with XP, Vista, Se7en
If you have been doing alot of installing and uninstalling and/or copying/moving files and folders about your HDD will get ‘confused’ and struggle to find essentail files. Slowing the computer down.
This tutorial shows you how to overcome the slowness and defrag you hard drive! It also breifly shows you how to schedule a scan in Vista & se7en!

TuneUp Utilities

Clean your startup

 I am using TuneUp utilities for this tutorial so it will work with any supported platform!! Sometimes programs you install and use on your computer embed themselfs in the start up when they are not needed straight away, and can be started manually. This will allow you to get started quicker!
I am aware that you can do it with windows but this is a far better and safer way!

Defrag your registry

  I am using TuneUp utilities for this tutorial so it will work with any supported platform!! Just like your HDD, your registry can become fragmented and cause errors and slowness. It is simple to fix this though, just follow the tutorial.

Turn areo off
